DAF supports seven main committees and working groups: Competition; Financial Markets; Insurance; Capital Movements and Invisible Transactions; International Investment and Multinational Enterprises; the Working Group on Bribery in International Business Transactions; and the Steering Group on Corporate Governance. DAF works with government officials through these committees and groups to analyse emerging trends and prepare recommendations favouring policy convergence and best practices for national action and international co-operation. Its work covers many fields including finance, insurance and private pensions; competition law and policy; corporate governance; anti-corruption; and international investment. These activities are often conducted in consultation with representatives of business, financial, labour and other non-governmental organisations, and non-member governments are increasingly involved. DAF activities often result in recommendations, standards, principles and sometimes legally binding obligation, which are then subject to follow-up monitoring or peer review to promote effective implementation.
