The 2008 OECD Global Forum on Trade brought together trade policy makers from OECD countries and a number of emerging economies to discuss global trade policy challenges. The Forum examined two important issues in particular: the impact of emerging economies on recent international market developments and the political economy of trade.

Policy Dialogue on Aid for Trade, 3-4 November 2008

The OECD with the support of the European Commission and the German Marshall Fund of the United States organized a Policy Dialogue on Aid for Trade during 3-4 November 2008 in the OECD Conference Centre. This two-day event brought together policy makers, development practitioners and academics to discuss ways for these stakeholders to help developing countries to build trade capacity and address supply-side constraints in order to realize the full benefits of integration in the world economy.

Aid, development and policy reforms needed to lessen impact of high food prices

What has caused the recent sharp rises in world food prices? Why are they unlikely to fall back to the levels we have been used to for the past 10 years? What will be the impact on the poor? The questions are discussed in a policy paper presented to ministers from OECD countries on June 5 2008.
