Secretary-General's official visit to Denmark (21-23 January 2007)

During his official visit to Denmark, OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurría met with:

• Mr. Thor PEDERSEN, Minister for Finance
• Mr. Bertel HAARDER, Minister of Education and Ecclesiastical Affairs
• Ms. Tine AURVIG-HUGGENBERGER, Vice-President of the Danish Confederation of Trade Unions

He also met with:

• Danish business leaders and the Chairman of the Trade Council of Denmark (Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs)
• The Permanent Secretary and representatives from the Ministry of Economic and Business Affairs
• Representatives from the Danish National Bank
• Members of the Danish Parliament

Mr Gurría attended several other engagements:

• Address to Denmark's Growth Council on the theme ''Globalising Cities and Regions: Rethinking the Urban and Regional Policy Agenda";
• Opening of an Informal Meeting of OECD Education Ministers on Vocational Education and Training (See also: the Chair's Summary);
• Launch of ''Copenhagen and Globalisation'', with the Lord Mayor of Copenhagen, Mrs. Ritt BJERREGAARD;
• Lecture at the Copenhagen Business School on "Growth, Innovation and Equity: The Global Policy Challenge'';
• Participation in the "Future Now" conference by the Organisation of Danish Top Executives, giving a keynote speech entitled "Riding the Tiger: The Economical Dimension of Globalisation''.
